amazing first year with the burgundy and gold. >> i have a lot of heart and i'm going to go out there and leave it all on the field each and every day. i give it my all each play. i don't save it for the next play or next series. i always give it my all because it could be my last. >> reporter: alfred morris' last play is hopefully many years down the road. in his first year he set two redskins franchise records, his 1,613 yards the most in a single season and his 13 touchdowns are top by a rookie. >> i feel great that i'm just able to represent all underdogs because i've been an underdog my whole life and to represent them in such a large stage as the nfl and to be successful in it goes to show that anything is possible. hard work, determination, it pays on. >> reporter: your success this season is parallel to what robert griffin, iii did at his position. he's kind of the one that steals the spotlight and kind of the face. does it ever bother you that maybe you don't get as much as

up on defenses in the nfl as he finished second in the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, but for morris it's about the team and the ultimate goal, not the individual achievements. >> just work hard and try to do better next year, maybe set the bar a little higher with the rushing record or maybe even chase somebody else's record. we'll see what happens, but it's always team first. i'm just going to be better and try to better those around and try to come back a better teammate. >> reporter: lindsay murphy, fox 5 sports. >> sky is certainly the limit from that young man. thanks to dave ross, great job tonight as well. that will do it tonight. the wizards back in action tomorrow night still on the west coast at 10 p.m., a monday night visit to the portland trail blazers. thanks for watching. have a great night and a better monday.
